Great insights here, Gabriel. I assert that, whether through myself, my device, or through a service provider or custodian, if I am the final decision-maker and am responsible for the hiring or firing of that service provider, I am in control. For this reason I believe the word 'control' is still the best fit.

I think when people hear or read "control" they infer "direct" control, but indirect control is also control, as long as you ultimately control the direct controllers. And we'll all need the services of direct controllers to give us a great UX, because no one is performing these calculations and executing interactions manually. And this point goes toward your point about interactions being handled "automatically"... to me, the word "automatically" still results from an ultimate controller delegating a task to some system or process, which is not the same as ceding control to that process; it is simply task or even authority delegation, and it can be revoked by the ultimate controller.

Do we still disagree?
